Port Tracker A Monthly Logistics and Intermodal Outlook
Port Tracker helps containerized shippers understand volume, capacity, and logistics management issues for U.S. ports by evaluating and monitoring key data, including:
- Container import volume
- Vessel traffic
- Port and inland trucking situation
- Gate operations
- Rail system performance measures
- Labor availability

The report also includes charts, monthly benchmarks, and a port "Congestometer" to indicate the projected situation for intermodal traffic via 9 major ports.
The Port Tracker was developed jointly by Global Insight's Global Trade and Transportation Practice and the National Retail Federation's (NRF) Strategic Supply Chain Council. Port Tracker blends the economic and trade expertise of Global Insight with NRF's deep knowledge of the distinctive needs and challenges facing retailers. World Trade Magazine, in August 2006, ranked Port Tracker as one of the leading "Fabulous Fifty Plus One" list of "people, companies, and countries that are significantly impacting the future of world trade."
Additionally, Global Insight is available to discuss your company or association's interest in developing a custom briefing with content developed for the needs of your internal and/or external stakeholders. For more information about Global Insight's Trade and Transportation practice, click here.
