Walt R. Arvin
President
Advisory Services Division

As President, Advisory Service Division for Global Insight, Walt Arvin is responsible for growing and managing the company's U.S. federal government, global energy, and corporate planning consulting activities. Prior to the acquisition of DRI by Global Insight in 2001, Arvin was the president of Standard & Poor's DRI, a division of the McGraw-Hill Companies, where he was responsible for the daily operations of the then world's largest economic forecasting and consulting company. Arvin joined DRI in the summer of 1998, after two years as president and CEO of UBIQ Communications (a wireless stock market information, quote, and transaction provider) and eight years with Standard & Poor's in various managerial and analytical roles. Arvin also spent two years as an economist with The Conference Board, where he was responsible for their capital spending survey and analysis group.

Arvin has a wide range of information and consulting services management experience from real-time news and analysis to analytical consulting and contract research. Most of his 20-plus year career has been in the area of helping companies and government agencies better understand the business and economic environment in which they operate, by providing information, analysis, insight, and recommendations to improve their decision making.

Arvin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Indiana University and a Master of Arts in Economics from Temple University, with concentrations in econometrics and industrial organization.
