Marcus J. Michels

As President, Automotive Markets Division, Marcus J. Michels is responsible for the strategy and growth of the Automotive Group worldwide.

Michels previously held the position of executive vice president of International Sales and Support Group, where he was responsible for sales, customer support, and business development for Global Insight's business in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, including DAFSA. He is based in the company's Wimbledon, England office and maintains offices in Global Insight's facilities in Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, Detroit, Lexington, New York, as well as Asia (Tokyo and Shanghai), Africa (Pretoria), and the Middle East (Abu Dhabi).

Prior to joining Global Insight, Michels was with Primark Corporation, where he held the position of commercial director of Continental Europe. He was responsible for the commercial activities of Primark's Financial Information Division in Continental Europe, representing $60 million in annual revenues. He accomplished the integration of multiple product lines within the European commercial organization and successfully streamlined product offerings and pricing within the Eurozone.

Michels joined Datastream International in 1988, and remained with the company after its acquisition by Primark.

In addition to holding a degree in economics and law from the Moller Institute in the Netherlands, Michels is fluent in several languages.
