Global Insight // Bringing You the Power of Perspective
Gino C. Ussi
President
Business Intelligence Division

As President, Business Intelligence Division, Gino Ussi is responsible for Global Insight's largest operating division, comprising the North American Macro and U.S. Regional Groups, the Micro Products Group, the Country Intelligence Group, the Industry Verticals Healthcare and Telecoms, and DAFSA.

In addition to being responsible for the division's research and sales operations located in North America, Europe, and Asia, Ussi leads the strategy process for each of the business units, as they continuously develop next generation products and services for their chosen markets. Utilizing his experience of managing high-growth environments and strategic selling models, Ussi is charged with refocusing the division in line with Global Insight's new vertical markets alignment strategy.

Ussi previously held the position of president of Global Insight's Analysis and Forecasting Division, where he was responsible for the strategy and growth of the company's information products that cover countries and industries.

Ussi came to Global Insight with the acquisition of World Markets Research Centre (WMRC)—the London-based business intelligence provider—where he served as CEO from 1996 until WMRC's acquisition by Global Insight in April 2003. During this period, WMRC developed the world's first daily updated risk rating and country intelligence system covering more than 180 countries, together with several industry-specific service offerings.

Ussi also served as a director of WMRC's parent company, Ambient plc, from 21 April 1998 to the flotation of WMRC on the London Stock Exchange in October 2000. Prior to joining WMRC, Ussi served as a publisher with both Touch International and Headway Home and Law Publishing, then Europe's largest contract publisher. Before that, Ussi was with Harris Research Organisation. Ussi started his career in various marketing roles with the 3M Company and Shell Chemicals before deciding to focus on the publishing and business intelligence sectors.

Ussi studied strategic marketing in Johannesburg, South Africa and has served as member of the United Nations' Economic Commission for Europe team of specialists for Internet and e-commerce development.
