Sample Farm Simulation Service

The Global Insight Agriculture Group is pleased to introduce a new service in 2008 designed to simulate the implications our agricultural forecast at the farm level using secondary information sources with minimal input regarding the farm. Utilizing specially designed sample farms covering the core geographies producing wheat, corn, soybeans, cotton, rice as well as cow/calf operations, farrow to finish operations, poultry houses, and dairy operations, this service illustrates how the current U.S. agricultural forecast or alternative scenarios impact crop cash receipts, expenses, farm income, cash flow, and real net worth at the farm level. Targeted at agri-business and the banking sector, this service is designed to enhance understanding of the drivers shaping decisions at the farm level.

Executive Summary: each farm's outlook presented in a combined PowerPoint presentation with bulleted comments ready to use for your presentations. Each presentation includes comparisons across farms, comments on forecast assumptions, and highlights of interesting forecast results
Agriculture Perspectives Service: weekly e-newsletter highlighting a different outlook area and/or agricultural issue;, quarterly Webcasts on important agricultural issues; and weekly price updates and graphics that are posted on the Web
Detailed five-year forecasts for each farm, updated quarterly, typically in January, May, July, and November
Web access to forecast and analysis through downloadable Excel tables and other formats

Custom Solutions

The service can also be customized to specific farm types and geographies that can be proprietary to the client. In addition, risk analysis can be conducted for each farm to put a "confidence interval" around receipts, expenses, income, and real net worth changes.
